Anna Titova is a Russian artist born in the Eastern Siberia. However, she received her artistic education in Moscow, in one of the most prestigious and innovative institutes of Russia – the ICA. In 2010 Anna graduated from the Valand Academy of Fine Arts situated in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden. In the same year a Swiss art historian and critic Bice Curiger, who curated the main project of the 54th Venice Biennale, was impressed a lot by Anna’s works while visiting ‘The New Décor’ exhibition in Garage Center for Contemporary Culture in Moscow. Bice immediately decided to include Titova’s project in the Biennale – her works were like ‘a breath of fresh air’. Anna became a single participant of the main project representing Russia that year.
Apart from the Biennale in Venice, Anna Titova’s works were exhibited in the 3rd Moscow International Biennale of Young Art, in the Lentos Art Museum (Linz, Austria) and during the Armory Show 2017, Focus sector in New York as the curator choice of Jarrett Gregory, who now curates the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington.
Anna Titova’s works are held by private and public collectors, including LENTOS Kunstmuseum in Linz, V-A-C Foundation in Moscow and Moscow Museum of Modern Art in Moscow.
