Nikita Pirogov
Nikita Pirogov is a photographer, artist and poet who was born in Leningrad, USSR, in 1989. He studied in RGISI (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) and has an MFA from IED Madrid (Madrid, Spain). His works were exhibited in Russia, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Denmark, Latvia, Slovakia, Portugal, USA, Brazil, China, Cambodia, Fiji and South Korea and are in the collections of State Russian Museum in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, Galleri Image in Aarhus, Denmark, Festival Images in Vevey, Switzerland, in Indian Photography Archive, as well as in private collections. Pirogov participated in conference “Photography as an art: Current trends in study and the history of national schools” (Moscow, Russia), as well as had lectures and public talks about his work at FotoFest International (Houston, TX, USA) and in FotoDepar- tament (Saint – Petersburg, Russia). As a poet he participated in festival of vers libre (Moscow), at a parallel program of “Manifesta”, as well as in many poetry readings events in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg. He is a winner of portfolio reviews in Bratislava, Slovakia, Vienna, Austria and Moscow, Russia. He got several prizes and awards, including 1st place at Kurekhin’s Award, 1st place at the festival of video poetry “Fifth leg” as well as prize at the festival of photography in Dali, Yunnan, China and a scholarship from IED Madrid, Spain. His works were published internationally in many catalogues, books and magazines. He currently lives and works in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
