About the artist

Taisia Korotkova was born in Moscow, RU in 1980. She currently lives and works in Milan, IT. Taisia Korotkova is a graduate of the Institute of Contemporary Art and Moscow Academic Art College named after V.I.Surikov, and a laureate of the Kandisky Prize (2010) as well as a long-list nominee (2015). Since 2004 she is a member of Moscow Union of Artists and in 2004 she received a grant from the Ministry of Culture in Russia.

Her works raise the challenging and relevant theme of the interrelations between man and science. The artist also addresses the issues related to space exploration, state-of-the-art technology in human reproduction, and the Soviet nuclear legacy.

Taisia Korotkova has had numerous solo shows in galleries and museums in Russia and abroad: Tretyakov gallery; NK Gallery Antwerp; Gabarron Foundation Museum, Valladolid, ES; Köttinspektionen, Uppsala, SE; Сolourblind Gallery, Cologne, DE; Art and Space Gallery, Munich, DE; Salon Vert, London, UK; Exhibition Center at Auguststrasse 74, Berlin, DE; Moscow House of Architect, Moscow, RU devoted to I. Zholtovsky; Teatergalleriet, Uppsala, SE etc.
