About the artist
Vsevolod Saplin was born in Moscow in 1987. In 2010 he graduated from Moscow State Academic Art College named after 1905. From that moment on he has been working with oil painting and he creates incredibly pastose, expressive and emotional canvases. Vsevolod mainly works in solitude choosing for his work Godforsaken rural corners and he seldom has any contacts with art publicity.

For Vsevolod, the concept of “abstract pleinairism” is close.
“Abstract Pleinairism is an inspired nature interpretation used in expressive painting on the edge of abstraction, but the form, the rhythm and the vital power of nature still keep their wildness and accuracy. Each picture is an introspection of emotions and impressions awakened by the contemplation of beauty and grace. The main target for the artist is finding the Divine nature through the beauty. Oil mixed with linseed oil paste are put on the canvas surface and create embossed and half-sculptural painting. With the help of this technique the artist depicts different shapes using random effects. Vsevolod Saplin produces rich pictorial texture”.

The artist’s paintings are exhibited in some private collections in Russia and Europe.
