About the Artist

The series of photographs Flaneur Kids is dedicated to the exploration of a landscape and the place of a young observer in it. The faces of the children are almost invisible, they seem to blend into the context of nature, existing not only as observers of flora and fauna but also as an integral part of a landscape. The angle is chosen in such a way that the viewer cannot recognise the place of shooting, creating a feeling of being completely lost in space, where only the silhouettes of “little people” can serve as beacons. A flaneur is usually understood as a city dweller. However, the author substitutes the exploration environment with a natural one, and a figure of a little flaneur is transformed into a symbol of involvement into the context. The photographs were taken in Lithuania, Russia, Spain, France and Germany. The artist has been working on this series since 2009 and continues to this day.
