The artist explores games and their interfaces using the lens of contemporary art. “My childhood in the 1990s was dominated by the aesthetics of hip-hop, manga and video games. This visual culture mixes ethnic, industrial and fantastic motifs. The modern information landscape is constantly becoming more complex through the interpenetration of different, often contradictory cultures. As an artist located in two cultural worlds at once - the global Western and local Russian, I have a consciousness that lives in both dimensions.

I want to give a different interpretation of globalism through the study of games and the manipulation of their components. By their nature, games connect. This is a tool for resolving the intricacies, internal tensions and external conflicts of cultures. Game symbols, forms and rules are publicly available and create a synergy of movement between players, harmonizing their cultural attitudes. It is by working with games that we can give a relevant and meaningful assessment of the current state of the world.”
