Artist, graduated from art school, attended drawing classes at the Repin State Academic Art Institute in St. Petersburg.
At the turn of the XX-XXI centuries, he left his studies in conceptual art, including hyperrealism, completing this stage with a personal exhibition at the Kaluga Regional Art Museum.
At the same time, he turned to the daguerreotype technique. Several years of research and experiments ended in 2004 with the receipt of the first daguerreotype in Russia in the XXI century. BAILUN chose the Becquerel method out of two ways of developing the sensitized surface of the daguerreotype. In 2009, he became the only one from Russia and one of 18 daguerreotypists from all over the world whose works were presented at the exhibition of modern daguerreotype in Brie-sur-Marne, in the French city where Louis Jacques Daguerre spent the last years of his life. At the same time, he continues to develop the principles of conceptual art in the daguerreotype and explores the history and technology of the first photographic technique.
