Alexander Kirillovich Nosov (1947, Leningrad – 2020, Saint Petersburg) was a painter and graphic artist. In 1975 he graduated from the Leningrad Higher School of Art and Industry named after V.
I. Mukhina (department of ceramics and Glass). He worked at the Graphic Art Factory. An important milestone in the artist's creative development can be considered his acquaintance with Vladimir Sterligov in 1968. It was from him, according to Lyubov Gurevich, that Nosov adopted the manner of his attitude to the real motif, which the artist transforms into a composition of small planes tending to a rectangular shape. Nosov's work in recent years has been completely pointless. Working in the pastel technique, the artist fills the image space with multi-colored geometric configurations that seem to penetrate one another. Alexander Kirillovich Nosov was a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, IFA, as well as the APRIL 17 art Association. He lived and worked in St. Petersburg. Nosov's works are currently in major Russian and foreign museums and private collections.
