Vladimir Grig inherited his illustrational skillset from traditional soviet practices, spending numerous years perfecting his image of artistic creation. The majority of his works contain a slight twist on graphical design which includes images from the ‘50s and ‘60s.
His early artistic endeavors began in the late ‘80s with Grig working as a book illustrator with several known publishing houses. In 1995, he received a grant from the Berlin Academy of Art, recognizing his numerous contributions to the fine art culture. Grigs’ multitudes of projects have been nominated for prestigious honors such as the Kandinsky Award as well as the Kurehin Award. His development of the entity called “Dimensionen” has been displayed at the 55th Annual Biennale in Venice. Chiesa di San Pantalon, the subordinate of the award show, has featured several of his constructs, labeling them “masterpieces.” Vladimir Grig is a renowned originator of more than 40 expositions which range from solo exhibitions to collaborations with various artists. Demonstrations and festivals in Russia, Germany and Austria have featured his works in some of their most prominent galleries including the Russian Museum and Soil Science Museum in St. Petersburg, as well as being the focal point of Krasnodar Kovalenko Art Gallery.
