ARKA Gallery is Vladivostok's first private gallery. It was founded in 1995 by Vera and Sergey Glazkovs.
The main direction of the ARKA Gallery's activity is popularization of artists' work and educational work in the field of contemporary art. The gallery's curatorial approach is orientated towards the development of contemporary Russian art. It demonstrates the depth of sophistication of artworks by regional artists. Developing the concept of cultural space in practice, ARKA Gallery presents exhibitions and projects of famous and young artists of the Far East, Russian and foreign authors both on its own platform and at international exhibitions and fairs; promotes the participation of authors in partnership projects. The gallery co-operates with institutions in Russia and abroad, and has taken part in international biennales and fairs of contemporary art.
The gallery focuses on and supports artists who explore and utilise current trends in various artistic practices, as well as exploring issues of geography, history, and culture of the Far East.
