The online platform TEO by Cosmoscow and Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil are presenting a special partnership project at the 13th Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair, based on an attempt to recreate a curator's office. This is not only a workspace, but also a kind of backstage area where the curator acts as a director and the exhibition becomes a stage where contemporary art plays the leading role.
Today, curators are not just exhibition organizers—they carefully select artworks for display and design the exhibition layout, communicating with artists, viewers, and the space itself. Curatorial thinking is designed to combine knowledge and intuition, discipline and freedom, serving as an impulse capable of provoking and inspiring artists to new expressions. In this context, Harald Szeemann's iconic exhibition When Relations Take Shape (1969) takes on special significance. It became a turning point in global exhibition practice: artists created works directly in the exhibition space, and the process of their creation became a conceptual part of the exhibition itself. Zeeman shifted the focus from the finished work to time and action, thereby demonstrating that curatorial practice works not only with spatial organization but also with temporal dynamics. This radical gesture changed the perception of the exhibition as such and transformed it from a static display into an event.
For a curator, time is not an abstract concept, but a resource that requires precise measurement and careful attention. High-precision watches become not just a symbol, but a necessary tool that supports the organization of the artistic process. These concepts are echoed in the works of Alexander Kosolapov, Alexander Zakharov, Viktor Akhlomov, Yulduz Bakhtiozina, Alexandra Pavlovskaya, Miki Plutitskaya, Polina Rukavichkina, and Nadi Koldaeva.
The works for the exhibition were provided by the following galleries: ANNA NOVA GALLERY, Syntax, Heritage, Artwin, FUTURO, Glaz, and Flor et Lavr Gallery.
Stand concept authors: Designic studio.
Curator: Varvara Rapoport.
The stand was created with the participation of Solo Office Interiors, K.S.Büro, Statio, SK Textile, MDM-LITE, and GLASSCO.
