About the Artist

The mini-collection is dedicated to rug weaving in the Krestiki village, Okoneshnikovsky District, Omsk Region.

Section the rhombus on this pattern is truncated on two parallel sides, and two-sided hooks, resembling the base of the section for cutting vegetables, depart from all corners.

I have been engaged in rethinking cultural heritage through household items. The rug on the wall for Russians was an ordinary house attribute. And for me, this is a kind of lost code that unites people with an unspoken thread. In my art practice, I looking for objects that are familiar to every Russian and recreate them from a brass mesh. I emphasize the unreality of objects of the past by the material transparency.
