The origin of the name Brazil refers to the red color of the wood used to dye fabrics that the Portuguese found in the country called “Pau Brasil” which translates to Brazil wood.

Rodrigo Almeida

Starting from Brazilian material and immaterial culture, Rodrigo Almeida builds

his repertoire that encodes his atavistic testimony through a personal vision.

Rodrigo Almeida participated in numerous projects and individual and collective

exhibitions such as Endemic (Milan), Entre Nous, for Maison Christian Lacroix

(Paris), Poética de miscegenação at Fat Gallery (Paris). Some of his pieces are

part of the permanent collection of the National Center for Plastic Arts in Paris

and the Li Edelkort collection also in Paris. He has collaborated since 2009 with

NABA-Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where he has taught workshops and

participated in projects and exhibitions. He developed limited editions and

unique pieces for galleries such as Legado Arte (Brazil), Gal Gaon (Israel),

Contrasts (Shanghai) among many others, in addition to being present in

important private collections in various parts of the world.

Currently participating in the Biennial Art Museum of Jingdezhen Ceramic

University / China 15th, 2023 duration: until 15.06.2024.
