The frescoes of Natalia Chobanyan delve into themes of everyday life, exploring the relationship between humans and their surroundings. Each piece serves as an attempt to pause time and create a moment of stillness. The artist employs the ancient Roman technique of “fresco al secco”, which involves applying a layer of paint onto dry plaster. This chosen method allows Natalia to elevate moments of the mundane, highlighting the beauty of each moment while simultaneously emphasizing the fragility of time. Precious memories, like the frescoes, deteriorate over time, becoming less distinct and transforming into almost abstract images, forever captured in the heart.
