Daniil Antropov was born in Vladivostok in 1991. He graduated from the Art Department of the Far Eastern State Institute of Arts and the MMOMA Free Workshops School of Contemporary Art in Moscow. In 2012, Daniil went to Japan to study ceramic techniques with different masters. Now he lives and works in Moscow.
The artist combines modern materials with traditional ones, using their unusual properties in his works. Daniil explores alternative methods of forming organisms in his attempt to visualize chaos as the main feature of modernity, while pushing the boundaries of ceramics. The artist uses construction mesh and rods to demonstrate asymmetrical forms, exposing textures and combining the fluidity and impermanence of ceramics with solid matter, covering his sculptures with brightly colored glazes.
