About the Artist

Bookends from the official collaboration between The Andy Warhol Foundation and Kidrobot Blue Banana take shelf design to a whole new level. These glossy bookends are equipped with magnets that allow you to peel off the banana skin.

The banana design was originally created by Andy Warhol in 1966 using silkscreen printing and was later used in the design of one of the most iconic album covers in rock and roll history. The silkscreen image of the yellow peel was originally made as a sticker covering the banana flesh underneath. Over time, it became a rare collector's item and one of Andy Warhol's most recognizable works in pop culture.

American artist, one of the leading representatives of pop art. He is known for his bright and recognizable works, in which he used images of mass culture, such as Campbell's soup cans, portraits of celebrities (for example, Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon), as well as reproduction techniques and mass production. Warhol had a significant influence on contemporary art, combining commercial and artistic elements.
