For me, the forest is a place for self-reflection, a return to basic settings. It embodies the energy of nature and the connection with the earth.
In Shor culture, people use trees to convey their prayers to the gods by tying colorful ribbons to their branches. The tree is believed to connect three worlds - the lower, middle, and upper - serving as a conduit and information storage device.
Member of the Union of Artists of Russia and participant of exhibitions since 2009, the artist is a winner of national and international competitions.
He creates works in the genres of easel graphics and photography, as well as installations. In his work, the artist explores the identity of the Shoria mountain region, to which he belongs, and documents its elusive culture using the methods of autoethnography and field practice.
