About the Artist

Jean-Christophe Cué is a French-American artist living in New York. He graduated from FAMU film school (Prague, Czech Republic) and was subsequently a resident at Fabrica (Benetton's arts research center in Italy) and Le Fresnoy, France's national studio for contemporary arts.

Jean-Christophe worked as a producer for the renowned magazine Colors, as well as for Journeyman Pictures and the film platform Artists Public Domain. The Tokyo-based publisher Kodansha published his work in its large-scale project This Day of Change.

His works have been exhibited at the Grand Palais and La Maison Europeene de la Photographie in Paris, as well as at the Museum of Modern Art in Marseille. In 2019, the Rosfoto Museum in St. Petersburg hosted an exhibition of Jean-Christophe's photographs, videos, and objects entitled Decorations.

Jean-Christophe works with photography, animation, and large-scale installations. In his work Breathing Canvases, created especially for the Museum of Russian Impressionism in Moscow, he used 34 special screens, animation, and specially designed software. In this and other projects, Jean-Christophe explores color theory and human reactions to color.
