Olga Soldatova
Olga Soldatova was born in 1965. She graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute and studied mosaic in Ravenna. Since the mid-1990s, Soldatova has worked as an avant-garde designer in a variety of media, from mosaics to fashion. The main themes of her work are the rethinking of Soviet symbols and aesthetics, her favorite genre is mosaic made of beads, smalt, and stone.
Soldatova’s works have been repeatedly presented at collective and personal exhibitions. The works are in the Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Moscow, the State Museum of Architecture. A.V. Shchusev, in the All-Russian Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts, SAAS Gallery (London), and in private collections in Russia, Switzerland, Austria, France, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium.
