Air
The artist represents air as the thinnest of matter, which people have been trying to see and understand since the times of the Aztecs by enclosing it in a balloon. Also, air for Asya Zaslavskaya is a symbol of life and freedom. Freedom, for which there are no barriers, because the air cannot be limited, caught and shaped, as Friedrich Nietzsche believed. And yet humanity is trying to experience air by enclosing it in balloons. The ball on canvas is created from beads. This technique refers to the endless interweaving of threads, associated with the human life cycle since ancient times. And the image itself is about the desire of this life for freedom.
Asya Zaslavskaya was born in 1998. Lives and works in Moscow.
