Osip Toff is the pseudonym under which the artists Alexandra Gracheva and Nikita Baltinskikh work. Osip Toff works with contexts, archiving social, historical and cultural experience, turns it into casual plots and intellectual puzzles. The art works are characterized by nostalgic pathos, retro futurism, theatricality, accentuated populism, delicacy and ambiguity of subject matter. The artist creates in the applique technique using various materials. The visual space of the works is two dimensional with a physical layering of surface. Graphics and color saturation are the hallmarks of Osip Toff.
