Lily. Hommage to Y. K.
Alexey Veselovsky is an artist, designer, typographer, and head of the experimental manual printing workshop “PiraneziLab". He is interested in ways of looking at the world, the work of human consciousness and perception. A thin border between physical reality and the images that arise in the head of each viewer. In his art projects, he uses classical graphic techniques, photo, video and digital technologies. Their combined optics allows him to find those moments invisible to the simple eye that stand on the border of reality. The subject of each work determines the choice of material and the technique used for the work.
With the help of digital manipulations, he creates virtual images, finely stitched collages about the work of memory, about dreams and the elusive boundaries of reality. In gum bichromate photo images, people who in real life could never meet, in places where they could not be. Familiar and iconic places for me, which are strangely transformed into semi-abstract spots in silkscreens and etchings. A harmonious combination of the creative process and the way of life is important for him.
