The new exhibition, “Hailey’s World,” recreates a mystical world imbued with children’s fantasy and imagination, which can bring everyday objects to life and fill a room with soul.
The magical world of the girl Hayley is revealed in works from the author’s new series. A special feature of the exhibition will be its scenography, recreating fragments of the interior from Haley’s world. Walking through the hall, viewers will find themselves in the center of the plot, where reality and fantasy are combined, and realistic details and objects transferred from the canvases create a tense atmosphere.
“Through the touching image of a girl, the author encourages us to think about what traces we leave behind, what stories we endow with the spaces that are significant to us. Through blurry images, as opposed to a clear interior, through everyday objects, we encounter the energy that people leave behind in the places where they lived. It’s an attempt to give each room its own story, giving it meaning, an attempt to give an inanimate object the characteristics of a living being, giving it character.”
