Yoomoota is an art space based in Bangkok, dedicated to multidisciplinary approaches and original genres within contemporary art. The gallery represents internationally acclaimed artist and designer Taras Zheltyshev (Taras Yoom), a regular participant in major design exhibitions such as PAD, Maison&Objet, Collectible, Milan Design Week, and Define: Seoul.
Trained as a medical doctor and inspired by the methodology of Leonardo da Vinci, Zheltyshev approaches art as a means of exploring the complex interplay between humanity and the world, defining his visual language as biomorphic surrealism.
The Yoomoota collection includes collectible design objects, figurative sculptures, jewelry pieces, and mixed-media works. Taras Zheltyshev’s designs have been exhibited in London, Paris, Brussels, Milan, New York, Seoul, and Bangkok, and have appeared in institutional group shows at the Tretyakov Gallery and the Zaryadye Park Underground Museum. His works are also part of the permanent collections of the Red Dot Design Museum (Xiamen) and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. Zheltyshev’s practice has been featured in leading international media, including Financial Times, Hypebeast, Harper’s Bazaar, GQ, Elle Decoration, and others.
