He lives and works in Berlin and Moscow.

The artistic style was formed under the influence of the Russian avant-garde, mysticism and constructivism.

"Mikhail Molochnikov's work belongs to this unique phase of history, this sphere of insight, when metaphysical sensitivity to the latest issues of existence is sharpened. Hence his inner searches — Gnosticism and Hermeticism, magic and metaphysics, the organic rapprochement of neo-Pythagoreanism with the art of Zen and Tantrism.…

...The artist's compositions contain the world of the looking glass, and it is enough to take a step to find yourself on the other side of reality, in the world of spiritual and mysterious entities involved in the world of Borges and Nabokov. His toolkit includes dreams, free associations, highlighting the fundamental layers of the subconscious, and invading the most sacred deep areas of the psyche. A genuine universality of images arises, sometimes gaining universal scale, generating images of mandalas."

(Vitaly Patsyukov on the work of M. Molochnikov)
