The new carpet created by Igor Gurovich reflects the author's impressions of the exhibition, where the Artsakh carpets of 1915 were exhibited. According to the artist, he realized that "the national carpet in Armenia was beginning to evolve towards European taste, towards a kind of German Biedermeier." In general, according to Gurovich, in Armenia, painting and tapestry have been going hand in hand for centuries, and then they separated. And now, more than a hundred years later, it is terribly interesting to create a genre within the old Armenian sign system. And, of course, there are quotes here — from old kilims, from a Persian miniature of the XV century.
