LA REFLEXION Stool/ Side Table
The La réflexion series is inspired by the natural world. Following the architect’s vision, marble, onyx, and volcanic lava acquire new properties that are contrary to their inherent nature — stone becomes pliable and flowing, mobile and mutable. The gentle curves of the forms invite touch, evoking the texture of the material, the porousness of lava stone, and the cool smoothness of marble.
“These are objects born from thought: the most beautiful things in this world are created by nature. Something light, yet dense. Like a wave, like a sculpture, like frozen fabric. For me, it is thought, reflection, la réflexion,” explains Ariana.
Ariana Ahmad is a Russian architect with a striking, recognizable style. Her work has been influenced by the minimalist creations of Peter Zumthor, Tadao Ando, and David Chipperfield. She produces works across various architectural genres, skillfully utilizing light and space. Ariana’s approach is grounded in the selection of timeless materials: travertine, marble, wood, and stone. For her, it is essential to convey the emotion and scale of each project.
In 2010, she founded her own bureau Ariana Ahmad Interior Design, which focuses
on interior design and the creation of bespoke design objects. In her view, architecture is what shapes the interior. “My perception of space is based on clear geometry, rhythm, and meter. I always strive to ensure that every element complements the others. I am drawn to strict, ascetic spaces filled with art and objects around which life takes shape,” explains Ariana Ahmad.
