ROLLING LOGS began working with wood in 2021. They are drawn to its hardness, natural texture, and color. Despite the limitations of the material, they willingly embrace them — it’s a complex but captivating collaboration.
The characters created by ROLLING LOGS are diverse: charismatic, eccentric, and more or less human — depending on the context. Visually, they resemble toys, creating a playful space for contemplation. While there’s no physical interaction with the viewer, this often makes it easier to engage the imagination and form personal associations. Each character seems to inhabit their own world — one that feels strangely familiar, as it is rooted in the artists’ own reflections and life experiences.
ROLLING LOGS’ creative process is slow, gradual, and emotionally charged. The material doesn’t always cooperate, and sometimes they have to start over. But it is precisely this challenge that leads to the careful development of every detail, until the wood transforms into a character with its own story.
In his art, he strives to express a unique vision, utilizing technical skills that shape his distinctive perception of reality. Although exhibition activity has not yet been part of his artistic practice, DAEMONICKUS hopes that his work will eventually be recognized as cohesive and worthy of attention from both experts and the general public.
