A key theme for the artist has become test cards, which Yuri reconstructs from memory, assembling them from fragments like shards of a broken television. He works in the technique of paper appliqué, creating his compositions from hundreds of paper pieces. Each work takes several weeks to complete. His creative method is shaped by his autistic perception of the world, his inclination toward meticulous craft, and his visionary approach.
Yura Snegir is a member of the New Urban Artists collective. His series of test cards became the basis for his solo zine in the second issue of the AMINAZINE publishing project and was exhibited at the Sol Gallery in Moscow. At the Museum of Nonconformist Art, an installation featuring a broken television alongside Snegir’s works became the central piece of the New Urban Artists group show. In 2025, the artist’s solo exhibition *NO SIGNAL* was held at the AIKI Terrasa space in St. Petersburg.
