Burrow
Darya Barybina was born in 1988 in Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Moscow Oblast. She received her higher education at the V.I. Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute in the "Faculty of Graphics" (2011). She graduated from the "Free Workshops" School of Contemporary Art (2015) and the Alexander Rodchenko Moscow School of Photography and Multimedia (workshop of Sergei Bratkov, 2018). Solo exhibitions of the artist were held at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art in 2017 and 2023. Her works are in the collections of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Multimedia Art Museum, as well as in private collections in Germany, the USA, and the Czech Republic.
Darya Barybina depicts sentimental everyday scenes and their characters, presenting the viewer with what seem like fragments of stories, sometimes absurd, sometimes touching. These stagings are sometimes artificial, and at other times, they seem to be life itself.
