Elena Furgal is a young artist from Russia’s Far East, working in abstract drawing, asemic writing, and meditative painting.
In her practice, line, dot, and rhythm function as a means of registering attention and states of presence. She works with asemic writing — a form of “text” without language that cannot be read, but is experienced as process. The line does not operate as image or symbol; instead, it becomes a trace of perception, capturing moments of lived presence. Her work explores the duration of perception, the interval between “already” and “not yet,” and what resists direct articulation.
The works are produced through sustained, concentrated processes and invite the viewer into slow, attentive engagement.
