Soyuz
A limited-edition sculpture titled 'Union' (originally Soyuz), inspired by the utopian alternate world of Atomic Heart. Union embodies the spirit of the imaginary USSR, merging Soviet cultural elements with recognizable imagery from pop culture of that era.
The new work merges two worlds — Yoomoota's and Atomic Heart's — both set in alternative realities. The adventure first-person shooter by Mundfish studio is set in a 1950s era marked by the rise of robotics and advanced technology. 'Union' evokes the spirit of the imaginary USSR through its design, drawing inspiration from the Hare in 'Nu, Pogodi!', the White Rabbit from 'Alice in Wonderland,' and 'Cheburashka.'
" 'Union'is a complex, multifaceted archetype through which I have interpreted the atmosphere of Atomic Heart and the imaginary Soviet Union era. According to the legend of the Yoomoota Universe, this new character resides on the planet U2beBetter. After its journeys and trials, it ultimately arrivea at their core mission — to remind us of the pursuit of science and space exploration," says artist Taras Yoom.
In 2025, the character Union was introduced in a DLC for Atomic Heart — an atmospheric shooter with RPG elements — becoming part of its universe, inspired by an alternate Soviet aesthetic.
Taras Zheltyshev (Taras Yoom) is an international multidisciplinary artist, creator of the immersive art universe Yoomoota, and a participant in major contemporary art exhibitions across Europe, Asia, and the United States. His paintings, sculptures, and installations merge the organic and the artificial, exploring human nature and our relationship with the world through the signature style of biomorphic surrealism. Combining contemporary techniques with traditional craftsmanship, he creates a fantastical universe where functional objects become tools for investigating all dimensions of human experience — from physiology to emotional states and the perception of reality.
Zheltyshev began his artistic journey in collectible design, earning recognition from the international design community through awards such as the A’ Design Award, International Design Awards, Good Design Awards, and Elle Decoration. He later developed an independent practice in painting and sculpture, working at the intersection of craftsmanship and technology. His artistic techniques include oil and acrylic painting, lithography, graphite drawing, assemblage, hand modeling, 3D printing, and digital art.
Today, Taras Zheltyshev’s works are held in private collections in Paris, London, Seoul, Belgium, Miami, New York, and Moscow, and have been featured in Forbes, Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel, The Art Newspaper, and GQ.
