About the Artist

LACONÍC is a collectible console table at the intersection of art and product design.

Crafted from a solid block of Rosso Cardinale marble, it reveals the expressive power of the natural material through a sleek, architectural form. The deep wine-red hue, the vibrant natural pattern of the stone, and the soft matte finish create a perfect balance between monumentality and sculptural fluidity.

The piece possesses a dual nature: depending on its positioning, it is perceived either as a stable architectural volume with a pronounced horizontal axis or as a lighter, vertical composition. Consequently, the console not only organizes the space but alters its perception, entering into a dialogue with the surrounding architecture and revealing itself differently within the interior.

LACONÍC is more than just a functional object; it is the compositional center of a space, designed to be appreciated from all angles. It is a piece for those who value both aesthetics and meaning, where form, material, and architectural concept merge into a seamless whole.

Vedran Brkich is the founder of AB-Architects, a boutique practice he established in 2004 alongside his brother Zlatan Brkich, who is also a MArchI graduate. The studio specializes in high-end architecture, bespoke interiors, and curated spaces.

Now AB-Architects operates across 12 countries, working on private residences, luxury interiors, and public spaces. Since 2017, the firm has been consistently recognized among Russia’s top architectural practices by AD Magazine and INTERIOR+DESIGN, earning prestigious industry awards and widespread coverage in national and international publications.

For Vedran, a boutique approach means complete personal involvement and an uncompromising eye for detail. His practice is rooted in a deep understanding of the client, including their lifestyle, habits, aesthetic tastes, and the atmosphere they wish to experience within a space. This insight forms the unique DNA of every interior he creates.

Rather than adhering to a single style or chasing short-lived trends, Vedran focuses on creating timeless environments that remain relevant for decades. He seamlessly weaves together architecture, tactile materials, light, artwork, and subtle details into a cohesive, harmonious whole.

Collectible design plays a central role in his work. In 2025, Vedran debuted his O N C E collection at ARCH Moscow, anchored by the Laconíc console. Through these objects, he translates core architectural principles such as form, proportion, materiality, and spatial presence into the realm of collectible design.

At Cosmoscow 2026, Vedran presents the Laconíc console alongside a new work from the collection, the Dzen lamp, at the booth of SPACE FOUR, a gallery of conceptual design.
