Moon Seop Seo is a South Korean spatial designer, conceptual, and visual artist. He currently lives and works between South Korea and Eindhoven, Netherlands. He is known for creating poetic installations that merge engineering, cultural meanings, and natural elements.
Moon Seop Seo was born in South Korea in 1994. He received a foundational education in engineering, which later heavily influenced his technical approach to art. In 2021, he graduated with honors (Cum Laude) from the prestigious Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands for his graduation projects.
Immediately after graduating, he founded his own multidisciplinary design studio. He actively collaborates with international galleries (such as Mia Karlova Galerie in Amsterdam and Mint Gallery in London) and design museums. He participates in international exhibitions, including Paris Design Week and Milan Design Week, and his works have been exhibited at the Museum of Applied Arts in Cologne (MAKK).
Moon Seop Seo's style is shaped at the intersection of Eastern and Western philosophies, exploring aesthetic contradictions and connections between Korea and Europe. Driven by his technical background, he employs a material-oriented approach, transforming complex industrial processes into poetic spatial installations.
The artist aims to create an emotional atmosphere that offers city dwellers moments of tranquility (for example, by recreating the rhythm of falling water droplets in his Passage to the Lake project). In his own words, he wants his works to «leave exclamation marks in our daily lives».
