Inal Savchenkov is a prominent representative of the Leningrad school of neo-expressionism, which formed in the early 1980s around Timur Novikov and the group he founded, "New Artists."
He was born in 1966 in Novorossiysk. In 1982, he settled in St. Petersburg and joined the group. He is a member of the Friends of Vladimir Mayakovsky Club. He performs with the Pop Mechanics orchestra. He collaborates with the groups "New Composers," "Kolibri," and "Two Airplanes." In 1987, Inal Savchenkov, together with the sculptor Franz Rotwald, formed their own group, which they called "Art Engineers." His works are in the collections of the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, and private collections in Russia and abroad.
