Vladimir Pogrebnyak is a Russian artist, a recognized author of the Primorye art scene.
In 1980 he received a diploma from the Far Eastern Pedagogical Institute of Arts. Since 1978 he has participated in numerous city, zonal, republican and international exhibitions. Since 1990 he has been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. In the 1990s he was a member of the artists' association “Shtil”. Lives and works in Vladivostok.
His works are in the collections of the Primorsky State Art Gallery (Vladivostok), Far Eastern Art Museum (Khabarovsk), Chita and Sakhalin Art Museums, Directorate of Art Exhibitions (Moscow), Center for Contemporary Art “Artitage” (Vladivostok), in private and corporate collections in Russia and abroad.
Vladimir Pogrebnyak is a social artist. In his works he touches upon acute, social and political problems, stereotypes. The artist loves to epathetize, ironize, provoke society, the viewer, and sometimes himself. Each of his exhibitions has a conceptual subtext and is built on the principle of dialog, a certain appeal to the viewer with the desire to involve him in a conversation on the topic that is in the air and worries the artist at the moment.
