Kutya (b. 1981, Moscow) is an interdisciplinary artist and graduate of the Institute of Contemporary Art Problems (ICAP). She has participated in exhibitions at the Ruarts Foundation, Shift Gallery, and other venues. Kutya’s artistic practice is based on working with found objects through the technique of post-craft, engaging with materiality, the memory of objects, and the resistance of soft materials. The artist understands the working process not merely as the creation of an object, but as a physical act of experience and transformation — simultaneously an intimate and social gesture. In Kutya’s works, familiar notions of domestic comfort, memory, interpersonal relationships, and emotional norms lose their apparent neutrality, revealing underlying tension and fragility. Building her projects through the use of found objects, old textiles, and handicraft materials, the artist invites viewers to perceive emotional experience not as something private and invisible, but as an active material force shaped by circumstances, capable of preserving traces of touch and exposing hidden conflicts. Her works are held in the private collections of Anton Kozlov, Zoya Galeeva, Sergey Popov, Mila and Denis Pak, Ekaterina Romanova, and others.
