Screens series
Tara Tarabtseva: "The 'Screens' series is a unique reference to children's magnetic drawing screens, where you can't erase part of a line, only the whole thing. Therefore, changes accumulate within the image. On the one hand, the line is repeated in an attempt to become more precise, but nothing is corrected—the new lines remain next to the old ones. On the other hand, in this series, form is assembled from multiple lines—as in children's drawings or in attempts to convey movement—when the same line is traced over and over again, moving slightly away from the previous one."
Works with contemporary hand embroidery, tafting, sewing, graphics and objects. She creates ironic naivist works that refer to cross-cultural themes and art history.
