Igor Elukov (born 1991) is an artist and filmmaker. He grew up in a village on the Peza River in the Arkhangelsk Region. He currently lives in St. Petersburg. He studied drawing and painting at the Vyatka Art School. He began with documentary photography and film, capturing life in the Far North (“Severe,” 2012-2016). Later, he incorporated staged photography using models and early cinematography techniques into his practice (“Book of Miracles,” 2017-2021). Since 2022, he has been working on the “Fall Fields” project. His work utilizes a variety of media, from film to sculpture. His works focus on the unexpected and chance, the relationship between the landscape and its inhabitants. He explores methods that allow the environment, material, and chance to shape the work, only partially guided by the artist’s intention.
