The “Gaps” series continues to explore a two-layered structure, yet the vision of the future here becomes significantly less defined. In the upper layer, isolated oval openings appear—a sort of porthole allowing a glimpse from one reality into another. But instead of the first signs of a new world, what lies beyond them is the unknown: a haze, an indeterminate space that cannot be recognized or described. A multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture, painting, graphics, installation, and performance. He has been a member of the Parasite art group since 2017. He was a resident of the Unconquered-17 workshops (2020–2021), a lighting designer at the AKHE Engineering Theater (2020–2022), and a resident of the Pushkinskaya-10 art center since 2022, following a project competition.
Currently, Dmitry's main practice is works created using his signature "pressure" technique, which transforms a painting into an object—under pressure, the paint seeps through the canvas, resulting in a painting that mutates under its own weight. "For me, this process is comparable to what's happening to us now—from the abundance of feelings and thoughts, a person
mutates. Sometimes, I mechanically make holes in a canvas—and so it is with us—it turns out that we are torn apart. In
experiments with materials, I reflect general societal tendencies or subjective experiences from
the context in which I find myself. Using atypical means, I express the sensation of social mutations
or paradoxes, exploring the 'collective body.'"
