About the Artist

Series "All By Myself" — an attempt to dissect the contradictory "all" as an impersonal and unified unit. The use of the word "all" almost always implies a certain absolute, one that allows for sweeping references and frees the speaker from the need to examine details. For example: All are here. All are ready. I've said all I wanted to say. All by myself.

Within this series, the vague and impersonal "all" acquires a certain discreteness: it takes on numerical form (1, 2, …, 7), is supplemented by the possessive pronouns "our / ours," and ultimately reduces to the reflexive pronoun "self" (1), which serves as the final point of a logical trajectory.

Anton Morokov is primarily known as a graphic artist. His conceptual series are built from various configurations of repeating elements — for example, images of flags or birds, and sheets of paper with typewritten texts.
