The Future of Memories series
A piece in which the traditional form of a vessel becomes a field for exploring the properties of clay and the effects of fire. Firing marks and natural surface changes shape the unique character of the work, balancing between archaic artifact and contemporary artistic object.
Elvira Ibadulla-Zade is a ceramic artist based in Moscow. She graduated from MGIMO University and Moscow State Linguistic University. Since 2012, she has been working with ceramics, studying traditional pottery under Alexander Poverin and, from 2013 to 2017, studying and working at the La Meridiana International School of Ceramics in Tuscany.
Her practice combines hand-building techniques, experimental firing methods, and the creation of complex multilayered surfaces. Through her work, she explores the material properties of clay, processes of transformation, and the interplay between controlled and unpredictable elements within ceramic practice.
