ARTMOSSPHERE is an independent creative union, which mission is deep study, development and promotion of street art in Russia. The support and promotion of street artists is also the main aim of the union. The union was founded by Sabina Chagina, she is the Art-director now, and Julia Vasilenko, now is the General Producer of ARTMOSSPHERE.

By initiating exhibitions, festivals and other cultural activities with the street wave artist involvement, creating positive conditions for self-realization, self-growth, promotion and integrating of authors in all creative projects, the union is moving to another mission - of making a street art global promotional platform. The union has opened many new names and talented artists through close cooperative work from one project to another.

Breaking the stereotypes of street art as a decorative and marginal art, it`s legitimization in Russian art context through demonstration of the diversity of forms and genres and integration into the field of global contemporary art is also a very important aim of the union. The union successively implements it`s aims and global ideas in different projects in a row.

ARTMOSSPHERE union is the initiator and the founder of street art ARTMOSSPHERE Biennale – the first and only Biennale in Russia, welcoming the street art background artists. It was held 3 times, in 2014, 2016 and 2018, the 4th Biennale was announced for spring 2021. This project is unique in a world-wide context also, as ARTMOSSPHERE is the only street wave artists exhibition in Biennale format.

In the end of 2019 ARTMOSSPHERE union announced the issue of fundamental book – Russian street art Encyclopedia, which consists of chronology, dictionary and deep biographical chapter. This book, edited under the union`s supervision, is now nominated for Sergey Kuryokhin AWARDS as “Best text about modern art”.

The union, together with the RuArts Foundation, is the co-organizer of the first street art promotional auction for the last 5 years. That auction initiated the wave of interest of collecting the street artists` works, who have the graffiti background. A special street art supporting Grant was established as a result of the auction and is presented annually now.

The first Shepard Fairey personal exhibition in Russia took place in Moscow Modern art museum in 2018 thanks to close cooperation of the union and world art community, RuArts Foundation was the co-organizer of the project. The great mural produced by ARTMOSSPHERE was created by the artist as a part of exhibition program.

Festival “Best city on Earth” (2013) is also one of the key projects of ARTMOSSPHERE, when there were created more than 90 murals of Russian and foreign artists all over the Moscow city. Creative union is the curator of “The wall” project in WINZAVOD gallery from 2016, where the main wall of the gallery is renovated regularly by new artworks, made by the creative union members.

ARTMOSSPHERE has produced a few public-art programs, e.g. “OKTAVA” Creative industrial cluster art-district (2019), BY-18 Yakutian Modern art Biennale public-art program (2018), VDNKH public-art program (2015). During ART-OVRAG Festival in 2017 the union curated the 10 800 sq.m. “Evolution –2” giant mural creation by Misha Most on VYKSA “STAN-5000” metallurgic plant building.

“30 Faces” Street art festival, initiated in 2017 by the union, came out of Moscow to 7 big Russian cities: Perm, Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Nizhny Novgorod. In summer 2019, in close cooperation with “ART-OKNO” cultural platform and kind help Alisher Usmanov`s “Art, science and sport” charity foundation help, the “30 Faces” Festival took place in Zheleznogorsk, Stary Oskol, Goubkin and Novotroitsk also.
